This season Jake Fischer heads up to the epic winter landscapes of Alaska where an adventurous life in the elements breeds the ultimate survival skills. He explores the challenges of cold water supping; real Arctic winter paddling.The environment is rugged and rustic and inspires us to create new looks with a mix of utility, natural finds, hand crafted objects and traditional elements of indigenous people.

The colour palette takes its inspiration from nature and winter outdoor life. Colours are faded and weathered by the salty air.

Cool blues take centre stage inspired by the misty rivers, snow-capped mountains and foggy walks in the forest. Rich ochre and ginger add a rustic element, and snowy pinks add softness for the girls.

Fabrics appear weather beaten. Aged natural finishes and textures match to old timbres and weathered paints, aged by time, wind and sea. Tonal imperfections and patching give a repurposed feel. Naturally oiled and waxed surfaces offer defence against the elements.

In contrast with this sturdiness there is an emphasis on tactility and softness as well.

Teddy bear fleece jersey and ultra soft mix yarns sit alongside snowy marled jersey and oversized chunky knits.There is a lot of attention for details, trims and graphic executions.

Forest adventure graphics and authentic badging accompany intense embellishments taken from traditional tribal costumes.
