FALL / WINTER

Two thousand 15

The inspiration for this winter collection was found in different, mainly Dutch, influences. Our collection consists of five different colour groups each with it’s own and exclusively designed prints. All solid colours as navy, off white, pink and lime green can easily be combined throughout the whole collection.

As each season we have a navy/ off white inspired theme, Blue Roses. For this theme a famous fashion photographer Tim Walker inspired us. His picture of the blue roses was the starting point for this part of the collection. The print can be found on a jersey cotton elasthan but also on a new material with a neoprene touch. The print can be combined with all solid navy items and will mix up very well especially with the fake leather styles.

The idea for the Fairy-tale print lies into childhood memories. My grandmother has this little books called Flower fairies. Every elfin in the book has his own favourite flower. Secondly the inspiration came from a Dutch adventure park, De Efteling. One of the attractions your will find is Droomvlucht, which is a Fairy tale world where you will go through with flowers and little elves.

A Dutch artist, who makes paintings in a traditional way using old handcraft techniques with fragmentizing, was the inspiration of this theme. The paintings remind us of the painter Heronius Bosch who lived in the Middle Ages. Especially his series of Dutch houses and windmills are a real inspiration of our Dutch Landscape theme.

A bird, which can be often seen in the Dutch landscape, is the peacock. You will find them at farms or in the typical Dutch petting zoos. A peacock with its feathers spread out is a beautiful sight. Wearing the dress makes you feel like the peacock; very gracious and proud! The dresses and skirts in this print can be combined with the navy cardigan with stones, the navy cardigan with studs or to make it more stand out combine it with the bright lime green colour. We love the jersey peacock dress mixed with the navy fake fur dot styles.

Due to the Dutch East India Company the influences of the Far East grew in Holland during the 18th century.  Rich embroidered fabrics became very fashionable.  The all-over Embroidered Flower design is actually a print of an embroidered fabric.  To give this print a modern twist we used as an accent bright colours such as bright pink and yellow. The influence of this rich period can also be seen in the knitwear where we used coloured stones and embroidery techniques as appliqué.

In the spirit of this rich period of Dutch fashion design we fell in love with some luxurious fabrics such as the leopard jacquard, the jacquard with little golden dots and the fabric in gold metal look.  The items of these different fabrics easily combine together and are very suitable for a dress up occasion. The jacquard with small golden dots and the gold metal jacquard can also give a glamorous touch to the Dutch landscape, the fairy-tale and the embroidery print. Use the fake fur gilet for the finishing touch.
